LAKES REGION SHOW SERIES
This year, LRSS welcomes back The New England Paint Horse Club, The Belknap County 4-H Equestrians Club, the Pemiquaney Riding Club and the Belknap County Horse Council. Each of these clubs sponsor one of the Open Horse Shows or Gymkhanas. Thank you for your continued support in making this a successful show series.
Our mission remains; To give our equestrian friends a place to show their horses in a safe, friendly, competitive setting. We are here to have Fun!
General Rules
1-Age divisions are as of the age on January 1, 2008.
Adult - 19 & over Walk trot - 13 and under
Senior - 14 - 18 Lead Line - 9 and under
Junior - 13 and under Sr. / Adult Walk Trot - 14 & over
ALL YOUTH 18 & Under are required to wear an approved hard hat while mounted on any horse at any time while on the Belknap County 4-H Fairgrounds.
2-Any dogs/pets must be leashed at all times. It is a requirement for entrance on the fairgrounds that any animal be properly inoculated against rabies and proof is required thereof.
3-No alcoholic beverages allowed on the grounds. This is subject to enforcement by the Town of Belmont Police/New Hampshire State Police.
4-Proof of rabies vaccination is required for all horse on the show grounds. This is recommended by the N.H. State Veterinarian. Negative coggins test is required of all horses (out of state horse within 6 months, instate horses within 1 year). A copy of these documents may be filed with your LRSS entry and will be kept on file for the entire season. Otherwise, you will be required to produce them at each show.
5-Approved helmets are required for any rider 18 years of age and under on these 4-H grounds. There will be no penalty for a rider of any age who chooses to wear a helmet for safety reasons.
6-The Walk Trot Division is divided by seat and age, may be divided by age (10 & <, 10-13) if entries warrant. The riders in this division will not be allowed to cross enter into any walk-trot-canter classes, may only walk-trot on these grounds. Sr/Adult Walk Trot classes may be divided by age (14-18, 19 & over) if entries warrant.
7-Lead Line Division is for riders 9 year old and younger – A safe place for our future riders to begin their riding skills. Lead Line entries will not be allowed to cross enter into any walk-trot or walk-trot-canter classes. The exception to this ruling is if the rider advances to the next level.
8-Proper show attire is required as appropriate for each division (English, Western, Hunter). Gymkhana riders will wear attire that is appropriate to the seat that they are riding.
9-Class rules:
Patterns will be posted at the beginning of each show for Showmanship, Equitation, Trail, Hunter.
Showmanship - Will be judged on the quarter system.
Hunter Hack will be consist of 2 jumps & rail work
Equitation, Pleasure, Trail & Hunter - Will be conducted under the guidelines of the New England 4H Rule Book.
4H Equitation classes – must show current approval form or have on file.
Gymkhana - The Patterns will be made available for riders at the first show, advance copies will be available by request.
10-Any event canceled due to inclement weather may or may not be rescheduled. Year End awards will be based on the shows conducted only. In the event of extreme weather conditions, please listen to WOKQ (97.5 FM) or WLNH (98.3 FM) for any delay/cancellation announcements.
11-Any un-sportsmanlike conduct or abusive treatment to an animal will not be tolerated. Any offender will be dismissed from the grounds and all entry fees forfeited. Professional conduct is expected at all times.
12-Scratch policy - Scratches must be in the Secretaries booth 2 classes prior to the class being scratched.
13-Damage clause - Any damages to the Belknap County Fairgrounds, horse ring, associated buildings or equipment may be assessed to the individual responsible for the damage.
All Pre-entered classes will be $ 6.00
Post-entered classes will be $ 8.00
Office fee per horse/rider entered $ 7.00
Returned check fee $30.00
All fees will be paid in full or an endorsed check left with the show secretary before an exhibitor may enter the ring. Show management reserves the right to demand cash payment from individuals who have issued more than one check returned for insufficient funds.

Yearend points are tracked by horse/rider combinations. To be eligible for year end points, you must be a current member in good standing prior to the first show. At the first show, you will be issued a season number for this combination. Please use this number at all Lakes Region Series Shows. Replacement numbers will be available at exhibitors cost. A minimum of 3 shows / gymkhanas must be entered & exhibited at to be eligible for yearend points. To qualify for a specific class, you must show in that class a minimum of 3 times.
